He <\/span>\u200bmurdered \u200b<span class=\"white\">17 people\u200b <\/span>and badly wounded \u200bat least 14 others.<br \/>\nOur entire nation, \u200b<span class=\"white\">with one heavy heart,<\/span> \u200bis p\u200braying \u200b<span class=\"white\">for the victims and their families. To every parent, teacher, and child who is hurting so badly, we are here for you &#8212; whatever you need, whatever we can do, to ease your pain. We are all joined together as one American family,\u200b<\/span> and your suffering is our burden \u200b<span class=\"white\">also. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>No child, no teacher, <span class=\"white\">\u200bshould ever be in danger in an American school.<\/span> \u200bNo parent should ever have to fear <span class=\"white\">\u200bfor<\/span> their<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"white\"> \u200bsons and daughters when they kiss them<\/span>\u200b goodbye in the morning.<br \/>\nEach person \u200b<span class=\"white\">who was<\/span> stolen \u200b<span class=\"white\">from us <\/span>yesterday \u200b<span class=\"white\">had a full life ahead of them &#8212; a life filled with wondrous beauty and unlimited potential and promise. Each one had dreams to pursue, love to give, and talents to share with the world. And each one\u200b <\/span>had \u200ba family to whom they meant everything in the world\u200b<span class=\"white\">.<br \/>\nToday, we mourn for all of those who lost their lives. We comfort the grieving and the wounded. And we hurt for the entire community of Parkland, Florida,\u200b <\/span>that is now in shock, in pain, and searching for answers.<br \/>\n<span class=\"white\">I want to speak now directly<\/span> \u200bto America&#8217;s children, <span class=\"white\">\u200bespecially<\/span> those who feel lost,<\/p>\n<p>\u200b<span class=\"white\">alone, confused or even scared: I want you to know that <\/span>you are <span class=\"white\">\u200bnever <\/span>\u200balone and <span class=\"white\">you never will be. You have people who care about you, who love you, and who will do anything at all to protect you. <\/span>\u200bIf you need help, turn to a <span class=\"white\">\u200bteacher, a family member, a local police officer, or a faith<\/span> leader<span class=\"white\">r\u200b.\u200b \u200bAnswer hate with love; answer cruelty with kindness.<br \/>\nWe must also \u200b<\/span>work together <span class=\"white\">\u200bto<\/span> create a \u200b<span class=\"white\">culture in our <\/span>country that embraces the dignity of life<span class=\"white\">\u200b, that creates deep and meaningful human connections and that turns classmates and colleagues into friends and neighbors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our administration is \u200b<span class=\"white\">working closely with local authorities to investigate the shooting and learn everything we can. We are committed to working with state and local leaders to help secure our schools, and tackle the difficult issue of mental health.<br \/>\nIn times of tragedy, the bonds that sustain us are those of family, faith, community, and country. These bonds are stronger than the forces of <\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n<p>hatred and evil, and these bonds grow even stronger in the hours of our greatest need.<\/p>\n<p>And so \u200b<span class=\"white\">always, but especially today, let us hold our loved ones close, <\/span>let us pray <span class=\"white\">\u200bfor healing and for peace, \u200band let us come together as one nation to wipe away the tears<\/span> and \u200bstrive for \u200b<span class=\"white\">a much better<\/span> \u200btomorrow.<br \/>\n<span class=\"white\">Thank you.
