<\/span>at least\u202f<\/span>I<\/span><\/i>\u202fdo, and likely Miss Hooker,<\/span>
<\/span>our teacher. I don’t like the other kids<\/span>
<\/span>much or maybe they just bore me since I<\/span>
<\/span>see them in regular school five <\/span>days<\/span> straight<\/span>
<\/span>but I guess they’re got the right to come here<\/span>
<\/span>same as I do but sometimes I’m not sure<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

<\/span>in class some Sunday morning that would be<\/span>
<\/span>good but Miss Hooker wouldn’t go for it,<\/span>
<\/span>not that she’s not fair-minded but that she<\/span>
<\/span>might think we’re plotting a revolution.<\/span>
<\/span>A revolution? Really? We’re only<\/span>
<\/span>ten years old to her 25 so she’s<\/span>
<\/span>been around some and to give her credit<\/span>
<\/span>she’s good at sticking to the subject of<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

<\/span>saved a few weeks ago but it didn’t<\/span>
<\/span>last, I backslid, but I didn’t tell her,<\/span>
<\/span>Miss Hooker I mean, because I don’t want<\/span>
<\/span>to break her heart and then she might lose her<\/span>
<\/span>faith and wind up in Hell when she’s dead same<\/span>
<\/span>as I will. At least we’ll have something in<\/span>
<\/span>common. After Sunday School this morning<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

<\/span>God all around me but I can’t get Him<\/span>
<\/span>to show Himself to me. What’s the big deal?<\/span>
<\/span>I don’t know,<\/span><\/i>\u202fshe offered,\u202f<\/span>but if you\u202f<\/span><\/i>do<\/span><\/i>
<\/span>lay eyes on Him, tell me all about it.<\/span><\/i>
<\/span>I said, <\/span>Yes<\/span> ma’am, but I was lying. I<\/span>
<\/span>wonder why. Lying’s a sin. Sin means Hell.<\/span>
<\/span>If the truth sets me free God might kill me.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>
