<\/span>get caught at making mischief I shouldn’t<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>I can’t bring myself to believe it all<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>though maybe I believe\u202f<\/span>some<\/span><\/i>\u202fof it, not<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>in God nor Jesus nor the Holy Ghost<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>but how Miss Hooker enjoys saving\u00a0<\/span>my<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>soul, or trying to anyway, I can’t<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>bear to tell her that I don’t have one, if<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>I<\/span><\/i>\u202fdo (I would tell her) so does my dog<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>and so do my guppies. Then there’s music<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>and the old re-lacquered piano which<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>Miss Hooker bangs away at and somehow<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

<\/span>say, which I like a heap because one day<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>when I’m grown I’m joining the Marines and<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>invading somebody and grunting\u00a0<\/span>my<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>way up to President of the U.S.<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>and getting assassinated and then<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>I’ll find out for sure if there’s a Heaven<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>and Hell. Miss Hooker says we’ve got to have<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>faith that Jesus shed His blood for our sins<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>so that when our bodies die our souls rise<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>to Heaven for their judgment and not to<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>believe means Hell automatically.<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>And she adds that we’ve got nothing to lose<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>by believing–<\/span>better safe than sorry<\/span><\/i>\u00a0
<\/span>–but I don’t agree. Still, I come for more<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>–I hold the record for class attendance<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>and would hate to disappoint God even<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>if He doesn’t exist by ending it.<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>You can’t have faith any stronger than\u202f<\/span>that<\/span><\/i>.<\/span>\u00a0
<\/span>I’d tell Miss Hooker so but I don’t think<\/span>\u00a0
