I couldn\u2019t feel it of course.\u00a0\u00a0<br>Once I did it again,\u00a0<br>the earth gave a small tug A little whip up at me\u00a0<br>In agony\u00a0<br>In quite possibly, pain.\u00a0\u00a0<br>I almost felt it that time.\u00a0\u00a0<br>I did it again though.\u00a0<br>Cause that\u2019s what humans do.\u00a0\u00a0<br>As I dropped a simple wrapper, From my absolute favorite candy bar. The earth cracked from below me.\u00a0\u00a0<br>If it had hands, they\u2019d whip up and stop this.\u00a0<br>The hands would brush trash after trash off the Earth. Making it prosper again.\u00a0\u00a0<br>Those hands would tug at my pant leg,\u00a0<br>As if In annoyance, to irritate me.\u00a0<br>But they would steer my eyes to the ground below me.\u00a0<br>Trash at the tip of my toe, and garbage cans overflowing into street corners.\u00a0\u00a0<br>The hands knew the urgency, they just needed help.\u00a0\u00a0<br>The hands longed to be there, to be real.\u00a0<br>To help the Earth clean up At least just a bit.\u00a0\u00a0<br>Cause we all\u00a0know,\u00a0humans can\u2019t feel it They choose not to listen\u00a0<br>to those shakes from below\u00a0<br>They are blind to the trash by their feet.\u00a0\u00a0<br>Those signs we ignore, the hands would feel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-summary\">\nIf the Earth had hands\u00a0\u00a0 The earth seemed to shake\u00a0It shook as if to tell me to stop, to quit it.
