Your myopic perception of the world\u00a0
As a place that hates you for every reason\u00a0
Except a reason that would put some blame squarely on you.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You imagine a queen and a princess because it\u2019s difficult to just be people.\u00a0\u00a0
You are not a King. You were never a Prince.\u00a0
I disregard the idea someone be venerated or dismissed\u00a0
Due to the circumstances of their birth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I live outside of the tribes that make you so angry.\u00a0
I care nothing of the tribal grounds where you hide\u00a0
And cast your racial and political aspersions like loaded dice\u00a0
Into the tents of other equally inane villages.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am beyond that.\u00a0
My eye of blame will often gaze directly into me.\u00a0\u00a0
You are not a king but insist you are\u00a0
And I am not a king but I don\u2019t want to be one.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m alone in a small room right now, typing this poem\u00a0
While I listen to good music and drink a cup of black coffee.\u00a0
I know my place in the world and I accept it.\u00a0
I watch the spider whose web I allow in a corner of the room and I smile.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
