{"id":340,"date":"2021-04-14T01:52:47","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T01:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.illinoisstate.edu\/euphemism\/16-2\/?page_id=340"},"modified":"2021-05-02T11:22:21","modified_gmt":"2021-05-02T11:22:21","slug":"colorblind","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/euphemism.illinoisstate.edu\/16-2\/colorblind\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorblind"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">JLK<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Color is love.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can only see color if you are in love.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most people are born with the ability to see color.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most people are born loving their mother.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This color then fades as the child grows up.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the child&#8217;s love fades.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This color does not return until a new love is found.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some never find it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was unlucky for a long time.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Though not for a lack of trying.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I dated many people\u2014men, women, and a lot in between.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I just wanted to be happy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then one day I got lucky.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I heard a surprising language in an unsurprising place.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He smiled and that was it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the day we first talked, we didn\u2019t stop.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now he is asleep with his head in my lap.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can see his purple hair spread across my legs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He opens his eyes to see me staring at his hair.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDid you know that your hair is purple?\u201d I ask him.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He smiles his gummy smile.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\uc608, \uc800\ub294 \ud55c\ub3d9\uc548 \uc54c\uace0 \uc788\uc2b5\ub2c8\ub2e4.\u201d (Yes, I have known for a while.)<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JLK &nbsp; Color is love.
