Older Than You Got to Be

Yasmin Odeh

Riddle me

Something you’d say

Because you’re curious

We look at the man on the stage

Hands maneuver around their pioneer

Allow the Incessant road ahead of our window

Heal us like a complimentary cognitive therapist

Fingers tightly wrap around your chrome battery

Inhale the extract of the natural nurturing nature

Float above below to Question what it all means

Cry out in despair and genuine bewilderment

Advise you and I about lifting the head higher

Struggle to shut out the three-sixty buzzing

Unexpectedly exit the abode with intention

Leave me with an impossible Question

How am I older than you when

You were here before me

You’ve left our puzzle

With not a real

Solution And

A Missing

Peace
