April Hoover
She embraced the woods and everything that inhabited it.
Inhaling, exhaling, and inhaling again the crisp air that squeezed between the branches.
She lurched onto logs, swiveled around trees like a never-ending obstacle course
Until she witnesses it.
The stream, erupting and cascading over rocks and falling into a bed of water below.
She approached it swiftly and bolted into the flow
Like she was returning home.
Her balance was unsteady as she went against the robust current.
She took another deep breath, and a smile blew up upon her face
She was at peace with herself,
She was at peace with this world,
The usually unappreciated beauty of this great world,
Was finally being noted by this one girl
Who sees the nature of Earth like a work of art.
