butterflies flap around and follow each figure with love, with intensity<\/p>\n
i look up<\/p>\n
and across to the tall hospital sourly injected with bodies<\/p>\n
wondering how many people died tonight<\/p>\n
then hoping it was not painful, but death<\/p>\n
is not usually like that, i know, and<\/p>\n
it was the city hospital so brutal suffering<\/p>\n
is inevitable–<\/p>\n
butterflies flutter and falter around the building like moths<\/p>\n
slamming their bodies on doors of homes with no intention<\/p>\n
of letting them in; left outside to fry themselves with light<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
inside, i ache for a life<\/p>\n
bigger than the<\/p>\n
palm of my hand<\/p>\n
bigger than the<\/p>\n
cherry mint i plop on my tongue<\/p>\n
bigger than the<\/p>\n
eyelash i blow off the tip of my finger,<\/p>\n
then shut my eyes for, while wishing for the heart\u2019s most longing desire–<\/p>\n
oh, but, life\u2019s a fragile butterfly, a fragile butterfly,<\/p>\n
