Typical\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaving once more without a goodbye<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My dreams are the only place you’ll ever visit me anymore<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe one day I’ll get over losing you<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Showing everyone what you loved to play with most<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We took you on road trips<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You always enjoyed the company of your friend in the reflection<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You were just so lively<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You were<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The day you decided to leave was difficult<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You didn’t know what was wrong<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Neither did we\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We only knew you weren’t happy<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You rested your head in my lap\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Much as you did when you were just a baby<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow sensing this would be our last time<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Together<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I stroked your head<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gently guided my hand across your boney back<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each rub bringing attention to your flared rib cage<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anything to remember what you felt like<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I wish I could’ve held you forever<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But that would’ve been far too cruel\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You never deserved all the pain you were in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You held it together like a champ<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You are my strong girl<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You were<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then you had to go<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Internalizing all that suffering was finally killing you<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you have to place all your pain onto me?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our time together was far too short<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your only flaw really<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why must nature deal\u00a0pets\u00a0the cruelest of fates?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They come into our lives<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tug at our heartstrings<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Until we’re eating out of their paws<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Only for them to rip it out<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Time flies when you’re having fun I guess<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
