Annie LaMontagna
I lay with soaked silk pillow sheets
stomach twisting, throat dry
Contemplating unorganized
mismatched chromosomes
of my two little sweeties
I want you to argue with me
I want to hear from your lungs that you love me
Bite, pinch, and hit
Snuggle, hug, and dance
Do noises and sounds speak louder than actions?
I’ve never heard such an obnoxious “AUHHH”
To see someone pointing at a picture of dunkin coffee on their ipad
People stare in line
There’s two of them?
I wonder what my sisters would say if
Gifted luxurious vocal cords
Would their voices match their laughs?
