I wish I could call you on the phone.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I desperately want to hear your voice and listen while you lecture me with stories from when you were growing up, to ask me how school is going, and for you to explain to me the most important pieces of advice that you received in life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish that when I walked into your home, I would see you sitting in your favorite chair, most likely reading a book or the newspaper.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish I could see you smile at me and say, \u201cHello! It\u2019s so nice to see you.\u201d I would wrap you in the biggest hug imaginable.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish I could go back in time and find a way to see you sooner than when I last did. To somehow make up for the time that we lost over the years of being apart.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish I could see you smile, to watch you help grandma around the house, always ready to assist her when she needed it. I wish I could hear her call your name and for you to respond to her, \u201cYes, dear?\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish I could see grandma smile that brightly again. It\u2019s been so hard now that you\u2019re gone. We knew it was coming, but no one could do anything to make it all go away or for you to be cured once and for all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I wish you knew how much we miss you, and how much we all love you.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I know you\u2019ve gone to a better place, and I am happy for the time I was able to spend with you in your final days. I\u2019ll see you again someday, and I\u2019ll tell you about everything that happened while you were away.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I love you lots, Papa.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n P.S. Thanks for everything. From teaching me a variety of knowledgeable skills to telling me interesting stories from when you were growing up. For always believing in me.
