Off the cliff face in the summer sun<\/p>\n
I stared into the waters<\/p>\n
of the mighty Rio Grande<\/p>\n
\u201cWoah\u201d I said<\/p>\n
\u201cWoah indeed\u201d, said the wind<\/p>\n
As it brushed the dust off my shoulders and scattered<\/p>\n
never to be seen again<\/p>\n
The river is vast and wide<\/p>\n
It\u2019s stronger than I am<\/p>\n
It fights harder than me<\/p>\n
Runs faster<\/p>\n
The sum of my soul would go<\/p>\n
Like a speck in the sea<\/p>\n
In the flow of that canyon maker<\/p>\n
Louder than any dream<\/p>\n
Than any hurt I\u2019ve ever known<\/p>\n
But one day the canyons will resurface<\/p>\n
The mighty Rio Grande<\/p>\n
Will stumble and stop<\/p>\n
It will not run forever<\/p>\n
And that\u2019s when I remembered the truth<\/p>\n
Every story that must be written<\/p>\n
Must be forgotten also<\/p>\n
And yet somehow<\/p>\n
I stand here still<\/p>\n
Between the peaks<\/p>\n
Of Birth and Oblivion<\/p>\n
Writing my story as my soul flows along<\/p>\n
Within the course<\/p>\n
