You want to be a therapist

Sarah Kantola

Someday, should you reach your goal,

You may have a young girl sitting across from you.

She’ll be crying.

She will find it hard to look at you

Because she’ll feel shame and guilt.

How will you comfort her

Knowing her villain was you in my story?

How will you cure her PTSD that you gifted me?

You want to be a therapist.

Is that why you had a million manipulations up your sleeve?

You want to be a therapist,

Yet consent is a hard concept for you.

You want to be a therapist,

But when I said “No” you took it as “maybe later”.

You want to be a therapist.

Does that mean you’ll understand what you did was wrong someday,

Or will you simply forget?

You want to be a therapist;

It makes me laugh.

It makes me cry.

You want to be a therapist

To heal those like me,

The victim you created.
