glass on concrete<\/span><\/p>\n

pavement so cold<\/span><\/p>\n

my soul lost all hope<\/span><\/p>\n

shrouded in the dark<\/span><\/p>\n

eerie echoing sound of larks<\/span><\/p>\n

lingering in the corner of my mind<\/span><\/p>\n

while time raced<\/span><\/p>\n

and hearts paced<\/span><\/p>\n

back and forth for hours<\/span><\/p>\n

turning those words sour<\/span><\/p>\n

my stomach lurched<\/span><\/p>\n

as brown feathers perched<\/span><\/p>\n

on stolen wood painted red<\/span><\/p>\n

feathers fanning the dreaded<\/span><\/p>\n

circumference of tethered<\/span><\/p>\n

hope paving solitude<\/span><\/p>\n

in murky swoops<\/span><\/p>\n

while my body ached<\/span><\/p>\n

drowning in the forsaken lake<\/span><\/p>\n

you mistook as fate<\/span><\/p>\n

when they called too late<\/span><\/p>\n

its feathers fell<\/span><\/p>\n

in rings around<\/span><\/p>\n

pools of snow<\/span><\/p>\n

melting in the glow<\/span><\/p>\n

of morning sun<\/span><\/p>\n
