sitting in an empty room<\/span><\/p>\n

I confided in you<\/span><\/p>\n

so slowly did we suffer<\/span><\/p>\n

sitting under broken shutters<\/span><\/p>\n

the window open<\/span><\/p>\n

my mind a blank token<\/span><\/p>\n

of bleeding hope<\/span><\/p>\n

as we lost sight of every rope<\/span><\/p>\n

our hands clung to<\/span><\/p>\n

fighting to run though<\/span><\/p>\n

water as we were tossed<\/span><\/p>\n

under and lost<\/span><\/p>\n

breath so fast<\/span><\/p>\n

every creature floating past<\/span><\/p>\n

looked weary<\/span><\/p>\n

for our sanity<\/span><\/p>\n

my empty room<\/span><\/p>\n

every flower in bloom<\/span><\/p>\n

but no feeling<\/span><\/p>\n

would be arising<\/span><\/p>\n

even at the sign of currents<\/span><\/p>\n

and suffocating burdens<\/span><\/p>\n

that broke treacherous pieces<\/span><\/p>\n

into glass shards so priceless<\/span><\/p>\n

I could cut my hand open<\/span><\/p>\n

from gripping the broken<\/span><\/p>\n

angled mass<\/span><\/p>\n

only trying to pick up the mess<\/span><\/p>\n

I caused in the first place<\/span><\/p>\n

sitting in an empty space<\/span><\/p>\n

so far away<\/span><\/p>\n

from the day<\/span><\/p>\n

I was underwater<\/span><\/p>\n

but also unbothered<\/span><\/p>\n

saving ourselves<\/span><\/p>\n

from the drought<\/span><\/p>\n

I jumped in<\/span><\/p>\n

so maybe you could live<\/span><\/p>\n

but we sit so still<\/span><\/p>\n

on the windowsill<\/span><\/p>\n

blood running down stark<\/span><\/p>\n

white fingers in the dark<\/span><\/p>\n

where we clutch our rope\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
