Blessed uncertainty. I don\u2019t know\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

if I\u2019ll ever weave a potholder again.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Probably not. Same for water skiing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Goodbye stamp and coin collections\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and grading essays. Bowling, maybe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow I associate the potholders\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

with Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

a.k.a, Judy Tyler. I was in a bungalow\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

near a windowsill, down the Jersey shore,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

when I learned Judy died.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t know her as Judy, and that she\u2019d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

just finished making Jailhouse Rock<\/i>,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

with Elvis Presley, that they were close,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and she\u2019d died in a car wreck out West.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I doubt I\u2019ll watch Jailhouse Rock<\/i> again,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

but am likely to see the Princess,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Buffalo Bob, Clarabell the clown,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and Phineas T, from the early days\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of TV, when you had to get up\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

to change the channel. And the Jersey\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

shore, where they had peddles\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

instead of lawns?\u00a0 Probably not.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Though I can\u2019t say for sure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the bungalow next to ours a dog\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

had puppies and killed them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was told that happens, not often\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

but sometimes. Judy, newly married,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

her whole life \u2026, was suddenly gone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Snowfall <\/i>is what I was hearing\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
