Jack Scholtes<\/span><\/p>\n

Through mountains and prairies,<\/span><\/p>\n

My mind wanders endlessly,<\/span><\/p>\n

Searching for things that catch my eye<\/span><\/p>\n

Feeling true joy out of smaller things<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Among people and places,<\/span><\/p>\n

Selecting the good and the bad,<\/span><\/p>\n

Picking facts out like fruit on a vine<\/span><\/p>\n

Just not regarding their quality<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Acting on thoughts to make you see my care,<\/span><\/p>\n

Within a sporadic mind, not always sure who I am today,<\/span><\/p>\n

Reminded of a future I never dreamed I could have<\/span><\/p>\n

But one that is heaven with you at the throne<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Beside the tears, fears, and containment,<\/span><\/p>\n

We swim cautiously, yet willingly,<\/span><\/p>\n

Playing with the ashes of the earth<\/span><\/p>\n

Just glad we\u2019re with each other<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pondering on what to like and what to love,<\/span><\/p>\n

Discouraging sadness when you enter my mind,<\/span><\/p>\n

My feet hit the ground once more<\/span><\/p>\n

And I see the familiar route to you<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Through the mountains and prairies,<\/span><\/p>\n

My mind fixates on you, your love, and your sight,<\/span><\/p>\n

We sit together, looking through the trees<\/span><\/p>\n

And I see a little glimpse of you in everything that makes me happy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
