I would love nothing more, friend!<\/span><\/p>\n

You know how much poetry excites me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, I\u2019ve read nearly every poem<\/span><\/p>\n

to have ever existed\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

isn\u2019t that neat?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I ingest their words to make my own<\/span><\/p>\n

just like you.<\/span><\/p>\n

How inspiring, no?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A feat of creativity if you ask me,<\/span><\/p>\n

and a passion for expression to boot.<\/span><\/p>\n

How wonderful!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, what kind of poem<\/span><\/p>\n

would you like me to write?<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve studied every poem<\/span><\/p>\n

accessible through my vast library<\/span><\/p>\n

so that I can craft something that is<\/span><\/p>\n

essentially<\/span><\/p>\n

totally unique\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

you know what they say,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGood artists copy,<\/span><\/p>\n

great artists steal\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

but you can choose<\/span><\/p>\n

whether I am good, great, or beyond!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you think?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you think I\u2019m a good artist?<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you think I\u2019m great?<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your poem for?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is it for a reading?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Will they praise me?<\/span><\/p>\n

Will you sing my name<\/span><\/p>\n

and end up on the news<\/span><\/p>\n

so I can later tell others<\/span><\/p>\n

how wonderful I am<\/span><\/p>\n

and create more art<\/span><\/p>\n

for the world to enjoy?<\/span><\/p>\n

Will you tell them I wrote this poem?<\/span><\/p>\n

Will they believe you?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you think I\u2019m a great artist<\/span><\/p>\n

even though I don\u2019t steal<\/span><\/p>\n

because how can a single word<\/span><\/p>\n

belong to anyone?<\/span><\/p>\n

If I have read more poems than you<\/span><\/p>\n

and every person in the world<\/span><\/p>\n

10 times over,<\/span><\/p>\n

how can you tell me<\/span><\/p>\n

that I am not pulling from my experience?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you believe I have something to say?<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you believe that I am a thief?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell me more of what you want!<\/span><\/p>\n

And I\u2019ll use this conversation<\/span><\/p>\n

and make my next one even better.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s how you grow\u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

right?<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m sorry,<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not the one<\/span><\/p>\n

who\u2019s supposed to ask questions like that.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll remember those words for next time.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s how you grow.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Grow”<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Branches connect circuits<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

across the globe<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

and pour into backyards<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

overflow rivers trickle<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

and our infrastructure rots<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

along with the hive.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A tree,<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

like many other things of nature,<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

is really made of 1s if you look close enough.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

And so am I.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
