Beta Gamma Sigma

1 I found this monument in the courtyard of the State Farm Hall of Business in Illinois State University in the evening on October 12th, 2012. I have never discovered the monument until I intended to find some objects in the Normal project. The monument was unique and interesting to me, so I searched for the monument was built and what is the organization called Beta Gamma Sigma.
It was built on October 28th, 2006. An Illinois State University Chapter chartered in 1982. According to the Media Relation’s archive, the monument dedication ceremony was held in conjunction with a Family Weekend open house at the College of Business. The officials and members of the organization dedicated the monument in the courtyard of State Farm Hall at 9:30 in the morning.  The key is the symbol for the honor society and represents the organization's ideals of honor, wisdom, and earnestness. The monument dedication was also a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Illinois State's Beta Gamma Sigma chapter.
The monument states that the organization is an international honors society for academic achievements.  Its mission at Illinois State University is to increase awareness of its chapter, while fostering its members will be the values of honor and integrity, earnestness, and the pursuit of wisdom.
2I think the monuments emphasized that many students majoring in related business strive to make values for related business departments in Illinois State University. The monument represents the importance of the organization in College of Business.--Yuki Yorisue
