Fairview Skate Park
Very few people actually know the history of the skate park called Fairview Skate Park that almost every ISU skater goes to is known as Fairview Skate Park. This skate park was meant to last with most of the ramps having metal finishing’s it was meant to last through time and the beatings of a skateboard. The total size of this skate park is 10,000 square feet. Some of the major perks of going to this Park are because it is free to get in; it is open till 11pm and also does not require the skater to wear pads or a helmet while at Fairview Skate Park. The park was built in two sections the older section and the newer section. The older section has custom-welded and custom built steel obstacles for the skater while the second section was made with premade obstacles that bought in a store and not hand made. This skate park is not only for skaters but is also open to inline skaters who want to brush up on their tricks and stunts. This park also includes a swimming pool in the vicinity of Fairview Park as a whole area.
This skate park has everything a beginner all the way to advance would all enjoy. With this skate park begin 10,000 square feet. It includes 9, 7, 5, and 3 in quarter pipes also it has 12 mini ramps. This skate park is equipped with ledges and pyramids. Having ledges for skaters makes them able to get better at performing difficult trips. For some examples of tricks skaters can perform because of everything the park offers is the nose manual, nosegrind, and noseslide. The trick called a nosegrind trick is where skateboards front truck grinds on a rail or edge, while the back truck is suspended over the rail or edge. This trick is also very similar to the nose manual, except that the nose manual is usually performed on a rail, coping, or ledge. While the Noseslide is done by riding parallel to an obstacle the skateboarder then while do a Ollie and turn the board around 90 degrees. Then land on the ledge with the front or the backside of the board sliding on top of the railing. Then the skateboarder can come off the ledge either regular or backwards. Going backwards can be called a fakie. All these moves would be impossible if there was no equipment to use at the skate park. Also since everything is made of metal it takes more to damage the equipment that is already there making this more ideal than using wood or plastic equipment that can easily bend, tear, or snap. The picture of the skateboard makes the person begin to think of where is the closest skate park. Also the picture of the green dragon shows that skateboarders are fearless in the stunts they do.
