Reid Wells
Ironic that a self-proclaimed writer
Uses a word too liberally
In ways that exceed
Its most common definition
Or maybe it’s poetic
That my wife is a hall
Haunted by a librarian
I don’t know if anyone could’ve predicted
That a widow’s peak
Is as close
As I’ll ever get
to having a wife
Now please, do tell me
All about love
But first, promise me this:
That you’re aware
That you’re not half a pair
of socks
