I wish I could escape this world
Holding your hand tight.
You have a spark,
That I want to imbibe.
You are standing there,
Outside my window
With a mystic smile,
It seems like you are saying:
“Come, I’ll help you”.
I try to reach there, but I can’t.
My entire body is paralysed,
I can’t move.
I’m lying in this room
As dark as a black hole.
I don’t want you to enter this world,
I’m trying every moment
To break through this chain
To reach you.
I want to unfurl my wings like you
And fly high in the wide, blue sky
But, here, I lie in agony and despair
With bruises all over my body.
And there you are,
With the colours of the rainbow
And the brightness of a star
Luring me to
Break through all the barriers.
My escape is writing to you,
I write to you every day.
I send those notes
Through the songs of the birds,
Through the sound of rain,
Through every sigh,
Through every teardrop,
But you ignore them all.
As I look at the setting sun,
That makes the room darker,
You stand there, surrounded by an aura.
You look like a glowworm
Shining in that darkness.
And here, I’m still waiting for the dawn
To help me escape,
And to reach you.
