Letter from the Editor

I have been the editor-in-chief for a year now, and it has flown by. This semester started off a little different because we are now a registered student organization for the first time ever. Being an RSO gives us so many more opportunities that we have only just started to explore. I can’t wait to see where Euphemism goes from here, and I couldn’t be more proud to have been a part of this semester’s issue.

Our goal each semester is to publish all sorts of creative work such as poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, visual art, experimental sound, spoken word, videos, and original music. We are an outlet for emerging and established authors to publish their work because we want to show off the amazing projects that people from not only Illinois State University have, but from around the world too. This semester’s issue has romance and heartbreak, imagery, and content that draws you into the story. We were impressed like always with the talent that is seen in the pieces sent our way.

Because of everyone who sends in their work, we are able to continually make a publication, which is student-led, that gives a platform for different types of creative voices to be heard. With that being said, I want to thank all of the talented artists who submitted work to this journal. Whether accepted or not, it takes courage to put your work out there. The second group of people I want to thank is Euphemism itself. The advisor, the board, and the entire staff. We wouldn’t be able to publish this issue without the people who dedicate their time to Euphemism.

Lastly, I wanted to thank all of the readers, and I hope you enjoy the Fall 2019 Euphemism issue.
