I set my eyes on fire
Burning out in the night
Wasted smoke signals in the dark…
I set my house on fire
Trying to smoke out
All the traitors.
I found myself burning to death
Alone in a single room.
I set myself on fire.
It was a mistake.
The cigar went out.
I spent too much time on other things
As it died in my hand.
My throat hurts and I have been coughing up phlegm.
I light it again
But this time
I won’t inhale
Or at least I will fight
The temptation.
Getting through life is like
How to survive smoking cigars –
Light up, take a puff,
Just once in a while
Don’t ever inhale.
Never inhale.
