Euphemism Archive: 2005-2015

Elizabeth HatmakerEuphemism is a creative arts journal edited and produced by Illinois State University students with interests in publication studies and creative arts. It has been published in various forms and under various names since 1970. This archive contains the issues published from 2005-2015 when Dr. Elizabeth Hatmaker served as Euphemism's faculty advisor. During Dr. Hatmaker's tenure, the journal changed its name from Druid's Cave to Euphemism and moved from print to online publishing using an HTML-based design developed by John Hunt.

This archive contains the 22 regular issues of Euphemism as well as 7 special issues published by students under Dr. Hatmaker's guidance.

Elizabeth Hatmaker was much loved by the students she supervised, as evidenced by the introduction they wrote to issue 12.2: "This issue is dedicated to Dr. Elizabeth Hatmaker, who served as the faculty advisor for Euphemism from 2005 to 2016. Her desire to support budding artists and writers led to the founding of this journal and its mission to represent a myriad of creative voices. She will continue to be an inspiration for our staff and for the work we publish each semester."
