Artist's Statement:

I have never written myself into any of my poems or short stories. I take on a persona, something greater than myself. Maybe it’s because I always saw my life as boring compared to those I read. Much like reading, writing takes you to a whole new world, one where fantasies and nightmares are free to wander. I wrote this poem during one of my many late-nights, as the title suggests. That is about as far as I write myself in. Enjoy my nightmare smiling at you, my soul bearing its teeth
