The old we is was,

 

Because it is what we were.

 

Old we equals was, because

 

Now he is “them” with her.

 

The old we is was

 

Because we could never be.

 

And now I am happy

 

Because I found my new we.

 

The new we is and

 

The new we will be.

 

The new we is him,

 

Never minus me.
