Sweet Nothingness

Rachel Stanford

Hush baby hush now

ain’t got cloth for those tears

your daddy’s, he’s callin’

No one said life was fair

The cows need milkin’

and there’s some eggs to fetch

‘cuz the sun’s still risin’

and the light’s rays are rich

Your mom ain’t left

only gone to the wind

blowin’ all about you

You just must let her in

Hush baby hush now

the dark is part of light

daddy’s arm are waitin’

It’s time to live your life
