I was taken out from
earth, from my mother.
A man came, and chose
Me amongst them all,
Pale and cold.
He touched me, felt
My every part, then
he took a hammer -
Bang!
Holes in my body –
scraping,
drilling,
cutting.
Oh, God!
The man smiled.
Masses in the streets
gazed,
gasped,
cheered.
Priests took me to a church.
They love me now.
