Artist Statement: One afternoon I was riding the Red Line home in Chicago. As the train traveled north, away from downtown, it became less crowded. Sometime after the Addison stop, I overheard a loud man with slurred speech, telling crazy stories. He appeared to be drunk. The man must have been bothering someone because a CTA employee stopped the train, came to our car, and told the man he had to exit the train.

They argued back and forth for a while about who needed to do what. Then, knowing he was defeated, the man stood up, walked down the aisle, and exited the train.

It was at that point, when he walked by me, that I saw he was completely naked, except for shoes. This experience was the inspiration for Red Line, Nude Line.
