Artist Statement:
This piece of music has a special place in my heart.
The story behind it goes like this:
One evening while I was on my way home aboard an Amtrak train, I sat there typing away on my laptop frantic about getting wifi to finish a paper or two. It was in the peak of my frustration that I sat back in my chair, closed my laptop, and looked outside. What I saw, was nothing short of the most beautiful site one can see in America; wide open space. Across the farmland that had been leveled by fall weather was nothing but blue skies and a setting sun. For one instant, I forgot about every stressor and thought of the freedom that lay out there upon the horizon. I tried to capture that feeling in this short musical piece, and it is my hope that the listener feels just as ease as I did, that one night were I was in view, of blue.
