Artist Statement
Kelsey Grace Forkner is graduating from Illinois State University in May with a master’s degree in English and a concentration in children’s literature. She is moving to South Korea in August.
She believes that all good writing is about honesty. She contends that Joe Versus the Volcano was the best movie Tom Hanks ever made, and she watches it every year on her birthday. Joe Versus the Volcano taught her, “There are only a few people who are truly awake, and they live their lives in a state of constant, total amazement.”
