Artist Statement
I try to envision the ordinary hand-in-hand with the unordinary. Or maybe better to say, the everyday embodying the mysterious, the transcendent. I like that surreal aspect at the heart of the realist art piece. I like the character, the place, at the focus of the artwork, to lead us beyond. I like to portray the world within a world. I'm very attracted to the Neo-Expressionists, the Impressionists, the Surrealists, the psychedelic artists of the 60s and 70s. I like the work of Burt Shonberg and Richard Prince.
