Artist Statement:

With short fiction and poetry, a writer can add the political element to socially current topics if they choose, while still actively creating in an enjoyable/plausible-reality storytelling format. Ed explores and blends biographical fiction and dreamscape planes through varied atmospheric sketches of set and setting.

Timewaves (Gravitation)

Ed West

Materials on the hull of a militarized jet

have mostly melted

The result of proximity fieldwarp collision

with high-velocity spacecraft

Dual parachutes glow

mildest hues of light purple

Reflection of color in my mind’s eye

Bursting with hieroglyphics

in sacred configurations

As I descend to the oceans below

Perhaps I will see a while –

An ancient sea turtle

And riding upon its great shell

whisper visions of clean waters

Forests returned to mountains

Disease and want chronicled away

In the centralized archives

Of a planet without borders

Tearduct moisture travels upwards

to meet with distant clouds
